INTERNSHIPS

Internships are available from time to time through the Computer Graphics Program. These are opportunities available first to students enrolled in GRC 290—Internship for Graphic Communications. See Internship Policies & Procedures.

PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYERS: Please download and use this form for submitting opportunities (Jobs, Internships, Special Projects) you wish to publicize through our program.

STUDENTS: If you are also interested in getting credit for an internship (required for a degree in Computer Graphics for Print or for an elective in later degrees), then you need to contact Ed Kanet (651-4159) first to get some paperwork rolling.

Description:
Designer to produced weekly advertising (newspaper ads, fliers, web site updates) for an Auction House (real estate, businesses, liquidations.) Other activities could include brochure, web site redesign, podcasting setup, video spots for the web.

Qualifications:
Adobe Photoshop skills essential (90% of work done with this app); experience with or ability to learn/use FrontPage (or Web Expressions).

Production ARTIST

Description:
Small company is looking for a production artist, focused on print design:

  • Logo Design/Branding
  • Marketing collateral, such as: Sell Sheets, Fliers
  • Brochures,
  • Postcards, Direct Mail, etc
  • Newspaper and magazine ad
  • Gift and Specialty Merchandis
  • Light Website update
  • Web Design knowledge a plus
  • Prepress

Qualifications:
Program requirements: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and QuarkXPress. Heavy use of Illustrator and Photoshop is essential (!!!), so the candidate needs to know how to use the pen tool, create masks, photo retouching, etc.

About Company:
Accounts with various manufacturers for Disney, Universal Studios (Harry Potter , Dora the Explorer, Shrek, etc) and Six Flags,where we create a lot of store merchandise (Stationery Sets, Book covers, Mugs, Keychains, etc... ) for them which I would like to put that person to use. This should be fun and a great experience for the artist.
