Objectives:
To create a self-portrait using multiple images and computer creative techniques.
This images should say something about you: your personality, hobbie, your likes, etc.
Not just a pretty picture.
Assignment General Outline:
Using a scanner to digitize two or more photographic images, and Adobe Photoshop software, generate a creative composite image that is visually creative and requires the compositing of at least two separate computer images.
You must use a photograph of yourself that is current enough as to be easy
to reconize that it is you and not so small you can't be found in the finished image.
Procedures:
- Select two photographic images, scan the images, save to disk with
the file sizes of no smaller then 5X7no Larger then 8X10 at 200dpi.
- Using Adobe Photoshop software, create a composite image.
- Take the image that will be the background for the other images,
open that image, re-name the file and use this as the 'master" image.
- Import the separate images one at a time until the composite is complete.
Use any creative techniques (such as Filters or Mode shifts) desired to achieve a creative final image.
Requirements:
- Submit for grading, a final image that will be printed as a dye-sublimation
or ink-jet image, by the end of the semester.
- Final image must have at least one creative technique applied to the image.
- Final image must be composited from at least two separate scanned images.
- Image will be displayed in class using the monitor display mode in
Adobe Photoshop.
