Reading 097

3 credits

Is it better to move the head when reading or to move the eyes? A good reader will move only the eyes. Also, the eyes do not move steadily across the page; the eyes move in quick, jerky movements as they focus on words then rest.

Reading 097 teaches analytical reading and reasoning skills. It provides advanced reading instruction with emphasis on developing high-level comprehension, thinking, and problem-solving skills. CSN assessment is required.

If PRAXIS Reading has been failed at least once, CCSD personnel may take this course for credit if at least a 'B' grade is earned. One CCSD student said, " . . . . bringing in articles that relate to the students, you have helped us understand "how to read," and helped us to become better educators. I feel that I am using a lot of the techniques even with my little ones. . . . "
