I have taught  Developmental and Transferable Mathematics at CSN since January, 1996. I believe that with good study habits and a reasonable effort, most people can learn Mathematics and "Go beyond" their past achievements in Mathematics.

A little bit of philosophy:

I believe that "Learning how to learn" is as important as "learning the material". Remember the old saying "If you give someone a fish, you have fed them once, if you teach someone how to fish, you have helped to feed them for a lifetime." also applies to learning. If an instructor "spoon feeds" a student, the student is just helped in the one course. If the instructor helps the student "Learn how to learn", the student is helped for an entire academic career.

I believe that one of the jobs of a Community College such as CSN is to help the student  "Learn how to learn".

I am pleased and honored to be a faculty member at CSN.

 CSN SCIENCE AND MATH RESOURCE CENTER---This is a place where you can get help with concepts, understanding, and assignments in Mathematics courses.

CSN Math Faculty and
tutors will be there to help you.

This is free to all students enrolled in a Mathematics course with CSN.

Based on past experience, the Science and Mathematics Resource Centers are open Monday through Saturday 

INDIVIDUAL TUTORING

This is in West Charleston Building D room 203

As an enrolled CSN student, you receive up to 12  hours free for Math 91,93.120, or 132 or 20 hours free for Math 97 . 
Additional hours cost $9.00 per hour.

This is an opportunity for Mathematics Students to obtain one-on-one individualized help in the course--you tell the tutor what you would like to learn.

For individual  tutoring  or the Math  and Science Resource Center, you need to bring some proof that you are enrolled in  a CSN Mathematics course.
