Dr. D. Gause

Music Discipline Advisor

Dr. D. Gause music student advisor, is a native of the Washington, D.C. area and has been active as a musician for over three decades on the Las Vegas Strip as a conductor, keyboardist, and clarinetist. Since its opening in 2006, she has been the principal clarinetist for The Phantom of the Opera at The Venetian Hotel. In addition, she has demonstrated her versatility by playing keyboards for the hit musicals We Will Rock You and Mamma Mia!

Dr. Gause has earned four academic degrees and has studied clarinet with distinguished teachers throughout the USA. She is a multiyear recipient of grants from the Nevada Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts. For six seasons, she served as founder and director of the International New Music Festival and was also a founding member of the CSN Faculty New Music Ensemble, Synchronix. As a composer, Dr. Gause has had her works performed and recorded throughout the USA and Europe. Dr. Gause performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral musician. With her duo, Clarion Synthesis she has performed throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Japan. At the College of Southern Nevada, Professor Gause teaches studio clarinet and piano as well other music courses online to students worldwide.
