Dr. Paul Pollei, Chair of Jury, a native of Salt Lake City, is the Founder-Director of the Gina Bachauer International Piano Foundation which sponsors festivals and international competitions every year. In addition to his administrative work with the Bachauer Foundation, he is very active in the work of the National Conference on Piano Pedagogy, the Music Teachers National Association and the World Federation of Music Competitions. Dr. Paul Pollei has been a jury member for many national and international competitions throughout the world including Japan, China, Australia, Europe and all U.S. states. He is a founding member of the American Piano Quartet devoted to research, performance and re-publication of music for two pianos/eight hands. He is the author of several articles on piano pedagogy and technique and a frequent lecturer for teacher workshops and master-classes in America and throughout the world. Dr. Pollei is the devoted teacher of many prize-winning students. He recently retired from Brigham Young University as the coordinator of Graduate Keyboard Studies and a member of its piano faculty. |

Geoff Neuman, directs the Green Valley High School Orchestras and co-directs Las Vegas Youth Symphony. During his ten years experience teaching in the Clark County School District, Mr. Neuman has taken his orchestral groups to various festivals and clinics in the United States and Europe.
Under his direction, the Green Valley High School Orchestra program has earned many honors including: National Grammy Signature School and First Place Winners at the Music Fest Orlando. Mr. Neuman earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Music Education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His professional associations include: American String Teachers Association (President-Elect of Nevada Chapter), Music Educators National Conference, International Society of Bassists, International Association for Jazz Education and Nevada Music Educators Association. In addition to conducting, Mr. Neuman is a professional bass player. He performs with the Las Vegas Philharmonic and with many other types of jazz performances and shows such as "Mamma Mia." |

Mykola Suk, born in Kiev into a family of musicians, studied at the Kiev Special Music School and at the Moscow Conservatory with Lev Viasenko. He won a Gold Medal at the 1971 International Liszt-Bartok Piano Competition in Budapest. Mr. Suk has concertized in solo performance and as a soloist with orchestras and at chamber music festivals throughout Europe, Middle East, Australia and Asia. He has toured with violinist Oleh Krysa in a program of the complete cycle of Beethoven sonatas for violin and piano. In addition to the traditional repertoire, his programming includes 20th century literature of concerti and solo works by Ukrainian composers, many of them dedicated to him.
Mykola Suk has recorded for the Melodya, Russian Disc, Hungaraton, Meldac and Troppe Note/Cambria labels. He was formerly on the faculty of the Kiev and the Moscow Conservatories, the New England Conservatory in Boston and Columbia University in New York. Mr. Suk is artistic director of the Ukrainian Institute of America and resides in Las Vegas, where he is the chair of piano studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. |
