COPMPREHENSIVE DEPARTMENTAL FINAL EXAM
Homework: The homework for each section must be taken online. The important thing is that you must score 80% or better on each homework to be allowed to begin the next homework assignment. For example if you are working on the HW for chapter 7 section 1, you must earn 80% or better to be able to move on to the next HW. You may continue to work on a HW until you get 80% or better. Even though you do your HW online, you need to have a notebook set aside for this course, and do all your assignments neatly in that notebook, so that you can use it as a study reference to study for the exams. You can also bring your hand written notebook to the final exam and use it (It should be all hand written homework and nothing else). Homework will be graded, and will be part of your overall course grade. Also, when you do your HW pay attention to the format you enter your answers, so that when you take your exams online, you do not repeat the same mistakes. Do not wait until the last minute to complete your assignments. Do not accumulate assignments to do them on the weekend either. Course begins right away on August 31, 2009. Please see the schedule below.Tests: There will be four tests, and a final exam in this course. You will take the four tests online. Before taking each test online you must take all the HWs leading to that test with the score of 80% or better for each HW. While you are taking each online test, you are not allowed to access any other web page or application. If you do so you will be kicked out of the test, and not be able to complete the test. If you do get disconnected from the test, you must reenter the test right away. If you cannot reenter the test for any reason, you must e-mail me immediately. If I see a test has been opened and completed a few hours later, or a few days later, I have to change your grade for that test to "0". Therefore, before you take the test, make sure you have the time to complete the test in one sitting. All tests are closed book. You can always go back and work on any HW you have already completed even after the due date. This will help you to review for the tests. You must complete each test on or before its deadline. There will be absolutely no exceptions to these deadlines, including technical problems, death in the family, sickness, court appearance, or any other valid or invalid problems. You can always make appropriate arrangements to complete a test. Do not wait until the last minute to take a test. There will be no make-up tests. Instead, the grade you earn on the final exam will be the grade for the missed test. Please see the schedule below.
Final Exam: Final exam will cover the entire semester. You must take the final exam in paper form ( not online). For the final exam you are required to come to the CSN testing centers at Charleston Campus. Before taking the final exam you must finish all the HW and online exams. Unlike, online tests that have no partial credit, you will receive partial credits on the final exam, provided that you show your complete work neatly. Final exam is closed book. You are required to bring a legal ID, a scientific calculator, a pencil, and an eraser to the exam. YOU MUST COMPLETE THE FINAL EXAM ON OR BEFORE MONDAY DECEMBER 14, 2009, AT THE CSN TESTING CENTER ON THE CHARLESTON CAMPUS. IF YOU MISS THE FINAL EXAM, YOUR COURSE GRADE WILL BE "0".
Final Exam Arrangements: Students who live in las Vegas and Henderson must take their final exam on the CSN Charleston Campus at the CSN testing center. Students who live outside of Las Vegas and Henderson must take their final exam with an individual working in the educational field. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS. You must go to the testing center of your local college, or university to find your own proctor. You must send the following information to the Instructor (Frieda Nilforoushan) by Tuesday September 22, 2009. If your instructor does not receive the information by the above date you may not be able to take the final exam.
The proctor's name, address, phone number, e-mail address, fax number, job title, employer phone number, e-mail address, and fax number.
The instructor will check the information, and let you know if the person is an acceptable proctor or not.
It is your responsibility to make sure that your proctor is available on the date that you are going to take the final exam.
Technology Problems: At any time if you are having any computer related problems, MyMathLab will help you to fix any problem. Contact Product Support at http://www.mymathlab.com/contactus.html for live CHAT, email, or phone support call
1-800-677-6337. So please do not use "computer problem" excuse for not being able to complete your homework and tests by their due dates. Do not wait until the last minutes.
Grade Calculations: Your final course grade will be calculated as follows:
FINAL GRADE=0.12*(HOMEWORK AVERAGE)+0.12*(TEST 1)+0.12*(TEST 2)+0.12*(TEST 3)+0.12*(TEST 4)+0.40*(FINAL EXAM)

Remember this
Students who study hard and “do their work” learn what they need to know, they smile a lot.
Those who don’t “do their work” don’t learn what they need to know,
they complain a lot.
