Nature of Work The Dental Assistant functions as a member of the dental healthcare team by routinely performing the following function
Most Dental Assistants are employed in private dental offices or managed care clinics. Program Description The Dental Assisting Program is taught in the Health Sciences Center at the Charleston Campus of the College of Southern Nevada. It is designed for the working student who has the option of either following the suggested curriculum sequence or completing the course work on a part-time basis. The Clinical Dental Assistant may complete the curriculum sequence in 2 semesters on a full-time basis or 3 semesters for those pursuing the program part-time. Note: The full-time schedule is dependent upon the number of openings available. Certificate of Achievement Course Requirements Career Guide and Approximate Costs Note: Qualified applicants are expected to meet all admission criteria and matriculating students are expected to meet all progression criteria, as well as these Essential Functions of Dental Assisting Students. Students with documented need for accommodation are to meet with the Disability Resources Center. Admission Requirements This is a Limited Entry Program, therefore, an application for admission must be submitted to the Limited Entry office by the application deadline. All prerequisite requirements must be completed by the completion deadline in order to be eligible for consideration. Applicants are notified of their acceptance by the Limited Entry office. This checklist provides information on the registration process for new students seeking a Limited-Entry Health Science Degree or Certificate. How to Transfer Credits to CSN From Other Colleges For further information, contact the Health Programs Advisement office. Additionally, it is very important that interested students attend an orientation as soon as possible for complete admissions information. Program orientations are held weekly.
