Licensure as a Practical Nurse
Once you have completed the required courses, you will be awarded a
Certificate of Achievement, and will then be eligible to apply for state
licensure by examination. If you desire career mobility, you may
elect to apply for advanced placement for LPN's in the Associate Degree
(RN) Program.
In addition to successfully completing the prescribed course of study
in an approved school of nursing, the Nevada Nurse Practice Act (NRS
632.140) requires that candidates for licensure be (1) of good moral
character (2) in good physical and mental health. Prospective students
are advised that if they have been convicted of a felony prior to
admission to the program that this may preclude subsequent licensure to
practice as a nurse in Nevada (NRS 632.320). If this is the case, it is
suggested that the prospective student contact the Nevada State Board of
Nursing prior to applying to the program.
