Program Description Our RNFA Programs are presented in collaboration with the National Institute of First Assisting (NIFA an AORN Management Resources Corporate Partner) and designed to prepare the operating room registered nurse and nurse practitioners with the skill and competency to work as a first assistant in surgery.

What To Expect Students will complete this program in a self paced (within semester time frames), online, distance learning format. Following completion of coursework and NIFA's remote, SutureStar Workshop, the student will be expected to complete a clinical internship with a surgeon and maintain a log of assisting in surgical cases.
