Nature of Work Radiation Therapists apply knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, oncology, radiation techniques, treatment plannings and dosimetry in their work. Effective communication with patients, health professionals, and the public is essential. Competence and compassion must be displayed in meeting the special needs of the oncology patients. Program Description The College of Southern Nevada offers a 21-month Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiation Therapy. The ARRT credential in Radiography or Nuclear Medicine is not required for admission into the Associate of Applied Science degree program. The program prepares the graduate to work with radiation oncologists in delivering daily doses of ionizing radiation to the prescribed tumor volume. Students receive both classroom instruction and supervised clinical experience in cancer centers. Technology Radiation Therapy Associate of Applied Science Program Course Sheet and Application Deadlines Career Guide and Approximate Costs TEAS Exam Information and Registration Form NOTE: Students who have taken the TEAS exam from another state and/or institution must have all their scores officially transferred to CSN BEFORE their specified application deadline. An unofficial copy must also be presented with their limited entry application packet. Admission Requirements This is a Limited Entry Program. Therefore, an application for admission must be submitted by the application deadline and all prerequisite requirements must be completed by the completion deadline in order to be eligible for consideration. Applicants are notified of their standing by the Limited Entry office. Students First Checklist New students planning to register for courses at CSN must follow the steps outlined on the Students First Checklist. This checklist provides information on the registration process for new students seeking a Limited-Entry Health Science Degree or Certificate.
