Entire UNLV/CSN/NSC library catalog is brown.

CSN Library Catalog is blue

The CSN Library Catalog
is shared with UNLV, the Desert Research Institute, and Nevada State College. It identifies every item in those libraries: books, magazines, newspapers, journals, videos, DVDs, music CDs, and other resources.

Each library that shares the catalog chose its own background color for its web search screen. CSN chose blue. UNLV Lied Library chose red. When the Library Catalog's background color is brown (like the example above) you are searching all the cooperating Libraries, a shared list of over 1,000,000 items. Later you'll learn how to search a single CSN Library location: Henderson, Cheyenne, or Charleston.
Electronic books are listed with the paper books in the Library Catalog which opens when you click "Find Books" at the CSN Library web page. Or, to search only electronic books, you can click "Find Electronic Books." Either way, unlike a paper book in the library, you can read the whole electronic book right on your computer.

Although the Library Catalog lists our print subscriptions to magazines, journals, and newspapers, you can't use the Library Catalog to read the articles inside the magazines. For that, click on "Find Articles" at the Library web page.

Use the Catalog
  • to find out what books, etc. the libraries own on your topic

  • to find which library has the specific item you need and whether it's checked out or not.
