Dear Student:

Mathematics was my first love.  Teaching is my passion.  I want to share this with you and help you develop skills and understanding for mathematics that you may never have thought you could achieve.  My relationship with all of my students is an important part of my profession, and I strongly believe you will be highly motivated to learn, especially when you find that your instructor cares about your progress. I respect my students and have a genuine interest in their academic endeavors regardless of their level in mathematics.  I will show great respect to all of your questions.  The experience of growing up in ethnic neighborhoods, hearing and studying languages other than English, having first generation Americans, as well as special needs people in my own family helps me to relate to all of my students.

I have an open-door policy and invite you to contact me at any time during the week, weekends and evenings by using my office hours, making appointments with me, e-mailing me or by calling my personal cell phone.

Sincerely,

Lois Summers, B.S., M.A.T., M.S.
