1. What things would you like to see
- -a- on PPA website?
- -b- in Panorama?
There were no substantive answer for (b), but
many fine suggestions for (a):
- A copy of the RMPA's planetarium primer.
That's what I'd like, but it probably cannot be done.
- All copies of the Panorama since the summer 99 edition.
- List of members, with email addresses at
least. Constitution, more info about PPA.
- Directions on how to join (i.e., send me $10!).
- Info on next conference.
- I would like to see indicated who's also a
member of the IPS.
- Color pictures
- Good astronomy URL collection
- News
- Old articles with index
- Something similar to the RMPA - more resourcefulness
- How about a locator for the nearest member planetarium that offers public shows?
People could type in their zip code and get back
the closest 2 or 3 facilities address & phone number.
- I would like to see accurate, up to date lists of
all planetaria, all staff, and all their e-mail addresses. (Of course, people in hell want
ice-water.)
2. If high quality Panorama appears online at
PPA website, with color graphics, which of the
following best describes your desire:
(a) I'd be willing to forego receiving hard copy
Panorama if it would keep dues lower
(b) I'd PREFER to have the online version instead
of hard copy
(c) You'll take away my hard copy version only
from my cold dead hand and I'm willing to pay double
for it even though its graphics are only black and white.
Tally:
a. 6
b. 3
c. 4
d. other*
* a. PROVIDED a notice goes out by email and/or postcard when each issue becomes available. I
think there should be an option for those that still
prefer having a hard copy.
* Alan, looking at your choices, how about
delivering it online in Adobe PDF format. Those who what
a quality hard copy can then print it out themselves.
* a. (but I like the hard copy it is most
convenient to read and store.)
THANKS!!
To those PPA members who responded to the PanErama survey.
