Occupying most of my time lately has been preparing new shows and a special show for the eclipse period. The new show is about Hubble and is called Visions, and the eclipse show is an in house special. We are also finishing off a new display about electromagnetic radiation, waves and radiation, designed to be user friendly for our school visitors, as it is tied to the local school curriculum. I am also keen to start work on a new show about ancient cultures and their interest in the stars and planets. We have made a small start on this with data collected on local monuments that are clearly orientated to collect summer and winter solstice sunrises, for example the Boyne valley sites at Newgrange and Knowth and Dowth. I would be interested to hear from other interested parties who may have information that we could incorporate into a show. I can be contacted at mailto:trm@armagh-planetarium.co.uk
I look forward to the responses.
We have upgraded our internalk computer network cabling and the power distribution, not very flashy, in fact we positively hope that it does not "flash" or provide any surprises!
