The Holt Planetarium at Lawrence Hall of Science is
part of the University of California, Berkeley
(http://www.lhs.berkeley.edu). It has become educational
center for the Hands-On Universe (HOU) project. HOU just
received a $2.5 million NSF grant to conduct
Teacher Enhancement for its high school curriculum that
enables students request observations from an automated 30"
telescope through the Internet, download images from a
large image archive, and analyze them with the aid of
user-friendly image processing software. We are also
planning to field test "Northern Lights," a new audience
participation planetarium show that will become a new volume
in the Planetarium Activities for Student Success series
(see http://www.lhs.berkeley.edu/AST300.html for info
on, and how to order existing volumes).
