Left: Sunspot group photographed on 12/15/94 at 18:39:35 UT. A broadband red filter was added to the light path to increase contrast. The telescope was an 8" Celestron SCT operating at f/10 with a full aperture aluminized filter.
Right: The same sunspot group was photographed at 19:03:17 UT on 12/15/94 using a DayStar Hydrogen-alpha filter. A red front aperture filter with a diameter of 2.5" was used to control the light entering the telescope. The telescope was an 8" Celestron SCT operating with a 80" focal length (effective f/32). The camera was a SBIG ST-6 CCD with exposure times of 0.01 seconds for both images.

Sunspot group photographed on 12/20/94 at 19:00:23 UT. A broadband red filter was added to the light path to increase contrast. The telescope was an 8" Celestron SCT operating at f/10 with a full aperture aluminized filter. The camera was a SBIG ST-6 CCD with an exposure time of 0.01 seconds.

The same sunspot group was photographed at 20:24:35 UT on 12/21/94 using a DayStar Hydrogen-alpha filter.

This loop prominence was photographed at 18:30:35 UT on 03/17/95 using a DayStar Hydrogen-alpha filter. A red front aperture filter with a diameter of 2.5" was used to control the light entering the telescope. The telescope was an 8" Celestron SCT operating with a 80" focal length (effective f/32). The camera was a SBIG ST-6 CCD with exposure times of 0.01 seconds.
