Welcome to Server 2008

Windows Server Administration

The objective of this course is to prepare students for Microsoft's Certification Exam MCITP/MCTS 70-646. Server 2008 is Microsoft's newest Server and as such this course concentrates on many of the newer features of Server 2008. While it is anticipated that students will have some background in courses such as A+ and Network +, it is not a requirement, although its helps in basic understanding of server networking issues. If a student has knowledge of Server 2003, many exercises will be easier. The pre-requisite requirement for CIT211 can be waived by instructor. Students should send email to instructor for permission to waive this requirement should a student feel they qualify and have sufficient background to compete in the Server 2008 course.

On the other hand, this course is also intended for students with no prior knowledge of a server, and hence it is appropriate for students to enroll in this course without Server 2003 experience. However, students with limited experiences will be expected to work a bit harder to maintain the rugged pace of working with Server 2008. The class is small with only 14 seats available. So if your intentions are to take Server 2008, you should secure your seat soonest.
