CIT 198B: What's New: Vista is truly a beginners course for those students, novice and seniors, that want to get a good handle on how to work in Vista. With Vista as Microsoft's replacement operating system for XP, many users are unaware of the advantages or disadvantages that Vista offers over XP. This course is intended for a beginner, with little or limited knowledge about Vista, or any operating system, to get a working hands on experience on using Vista The links above will give you an opportunity to meet with Professor Alpern as he explains what this course is about. In addition you have links to a syllabus (could be a bit dated but applicable), a sample training video of how the class is conducted, and contact information for Professor Alpern.

This will be the last semester that I will be teaching a beginner based course with Windows Vista. For the Fall 2010, plans are to teach a beginner course in Windows 7. However since Windows 7 archtecture is based on Vista, it would be an advantage for any student interested in learning about Windows 7 to have a basic background with the Vista operating system. With that in mind it is recommended that students planning to take Windows 7 next Fall semester, have a background using Windows Vista.
