Health Unit Coordinator
The Health Unit Coordinator program is an intensive 7 week (96Hrs) course designed for serious students in preparation to start a career as a Health Unit Coordinator. Students who successfully complete course objectives included in the lectures, lab and clinical work will be awarded a Certificate of Completion and will be eligible to apply for the National Certification Examination (NAHUC). The Health Unit Coordinator program will help students demonstrate proficient knowledge consistent of: medical terminology, safe and efficient work practices, interdepartmental coordination, chart setup, protocol for treatment orders, admission and discharge, patient transfer, interpretation and transcription of practitioner’s orders, and preoperative and post operative orders.
