Patient Care Dialysis Technician

The Patient Care Dialysis Technician program will train students to work with patients who have end stage renal disease (ESRD/Kidney failure) and need help removing harmful substances from the blood stream. This course is based on the National Association for Nephrology Technician (NANT) standards and after 4-6 months of clinical experience, the technician will be allowed to take the National Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) examination. As of 2010, National certification is required to work in the field and this program will provide a minimum of 80 (Hrs) of lecture/lab coursework and 210 (Hrs) of clinical practice. The course will cover: Clinical, Technical, and Enviromental technician support; basic Renal Anatomy & Physiology, and Role of the Patient Care Technician.
