Specialization Programs


Program Overview

Program Overview
The College of Southern Nevada OSHA Training Institute Education Center offers four focused specialized training programs. These programs allow students to obtain skills necessary for various areas of occupational health and safety. Individuals who satisfactorily complete the program will earn a certificate of completion and have access to CSN DWED transcript record.

Course transfers are accepted for up to 2 courses from any other OSHA Training Institute Education Center. All OSHA cards must be current and the course prerequisites still apply.

Costs
In addition to the course costs there is a onetime application fee of $50.00 per specialization.

  • The Safety Professional

Construction Safety & Health Specialization

Required Courses

  • OSHA 510 OSHA Standards or OSHA 500 Construction Train-the-Trainer
  • OSHA 521 Introduction to Industrial Hygiene
  • OSHA 2225 Respiratory Protection
  • OSHA 3010 Excavation, Trenching, & Soil Mechanics
  • OSHA 3110 Fall Arrest Systems
  • OSHA 7500 Introduction to Safety and Health Management

Secondary Courses
Select any 2 of the following.

  • OSHA 2015 Hazardous Materials
  • OSHA 2264 Permit-Required Confined Space Entry
  • OSHA 3095 Electrical Standards
  • OSHA 5600 Disaster Site Worker Train-the-Trainer Course
  • OSHA 500 – Construction Train-the-Trainer (only if not selected as a core course)

General Industry Safety & Health Specialization

  • OSHA 2045 Machinery and Machine Guarding Standard
  • OSHA 2225 Respiratory Protection
  • OSHA 2264 Permit-Required Confined Space Entry
  • OSHA 7105 Evacuation and Emergency Planning
  • OSHA 7500 Introduction to Safety and Health Management

 

Secondary Courses
